Battery law information:

Tape the terminals of old batteries and rechargeable batteries containing lithium beforehand to prevent an external short circuit. When disposing of old electrical appliances that contain batteries or rechargeable batteries, these should – as far as possible – be removed beforehand.

Take-back and recycling: Used batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. Consumers are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure that they are disposed of correctly. Used batteries can be returned free of charge to public collection points in the municipality and wherever batteries are sold.

Symbolic labelling: Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
