Fixed axle or bearing?

The one decision to make before you buy.

Read the guide

A fixed axle is where we tell every beginner to start, and our pick is the EVO G2, the diabolo we recommend from a first purchase to the stage; the Echo 2.0 is the budget way to try, and your first set adds the sticks and string. Fixed means the string grips a steel axle directly, with no bearing, so you feel and steer the diabolo from the first throw. This is where the classic repertoire lives, from the string climb to suicides, and the only way into playing two or three diabolos at once. Lighter, cheaper and maintenance-free; fixed axle or bearing axle compares the two.

How to choose

The EVO G2 (240 g, soft cups) is the diabolo we recommend from a first purchase to stage work; the Echo 2.0 (215 g) is the budget model, built to a price, for trying diabolo now and then; the Magforce Fixed is the EVO's twin with a slightly sharper edge. For three diabolos and up, the 189 g EVO Ultra Light. See fixed axle or bearing axle.
