What counts as the peak?
The high point of the picture. Take that literally or not.
The top of a throw. The face the second a trick lands. Last light on a rooftop. Sharp or blurred, alone or in a crowd: how you read the word is part of what we judge. One photo, with a diabolo in it.
Who decides, and how
First edition. Judged by Guillaume, with the community vote. One juror picks the top 3; your votes pick the Community Pick.
- ThemeHow well the photo answers The Peak. The top of the throw, the highest point, the second before it turns.
- OriginalityAn angle, a place or an idea we have not seen a hundred times.
- The imageLight, framing, sharpness where it matters. The strength of the photo itself.
Guillaume Karpowicz

Upload up to three
One entry each, up to three photos, and every one of them competes. Original JPEGs, EXIF intact.
Credit everyone
Both names, diabolist and photographer, get published with the photo. If you did not take it, ask first.

Questions
Can I edit the photo?
Edit it like a photograph: crop, exposure, contrast, colour, dodge and burn, spot removal. What you cannot do is generate or invent: no AI, no generative fill, no sky replacement, nothing added or removed.
Who owns my photo afterwards?
You do, permanently. What you give us is a licence: from the moment you enter, we may show your photo, always with your name on it, on diabolofocus.com and our social channels, for IN FOCUS and to promote our shop and the Sundia brand, with no end date. We never sell it, never print it on anything we sell, and never hand it to another company. Free contest, real prizes; that is the deal.
My friend took the photo. Who enters?
Whoever submits it owns the entry: that is who we email, credit first and pay. Agree it between you first. Both names are published either way; in doubt, let the photographer enter.
Does it have to be a Sundia diabolo?
Yes. IN FOCUS exists to promote diabolo, and since the shop that sells Sundia is the one putting up the prizes, we expect it to promote the Sundia brand too. That is the one thing we ask of the frame. Where you shot it is up to you: a park, a gym, a rooftop, your own hallway. We judge the photograph, not the place.
Can I enter an older photo?
Up to a point: it can be up to a year old, taken on or after 1 Sep 2025. We still recommend a new photo made for this brief, one that says what the peak means to you. Already posted it on your own Instagram? Still fine. One that has won another photo contest is not. And between two photos the jury rates equally, the one shot during the contest window takes it.
What if I am under 18?
If you are 14 to 17 you can enter with a parent or guardian’s written consent. Ask them to email info@diabolofocus.com before the Top 10 is chosen; the consent template in the rules is three lines they can copy. Same goes for anyone recognisable in your photo who is under 18.
Everything else is in the Contest Rules and the Rights and Publication Licence.
