BESCHREIBUNG
YANA #1 — Paper Pages Celebrating Emotional Juggling
About the Magazine
YANA — an acrostic for You Are Not Alone — is a biannual art magazine produced by Gling Studio, a creative house dedicated to whimsical and emotional movement. Founded and edited by Florence Huet, YANA was born out of a desire to look at juggling through an intimate, personal lens: not as a party trick, but as an art form at the crossroads of movement, rhythm, mathematics, architecture, and poetry. This first issue is a 160-page object to hold, browse, and return to.
What's Inside
Issue #1 opens wide the door to the juggling world and leaves room for everything unexpected. What is a cooler job than being a juggler? The answer might surprise you. A step-by-step tutorial guides you through building your own biodegradable firework ball. A photographic series explores what happens when juggling props become a green screen, their movement dissolving into pure visual transformation. Texture is discussed, dissected, and celebrated. Through the Gaze project, disposable cameras sent to jugglers across the globe, intimate windows open onto the lives of practitioners from different continents, ages, and backgrounds.
Alongside these essays and features, the pages are filled with paintings, collages, and poems, making YANA as much an art book as a magazine.
A Different Kind of Juggling Publication
YANA deliberately steps away from the usual technique-and-performance-review format. Typography itself juggles: standfirsts wriggle around the page, interviews appear bilingually, and hidden visual surprises reward the curious reader. It is a place where juggling is not defined — but felt.
