Sundia and Taibolo are both from Taiwan, which makes the comparison sound
closer than it is. Taibolo makes a small range of soft-cup bearing diabolos
that are hard to find in Europe. Sundia makes the reference range, from a
22 € school diabolo to the magnetic Magforce, with every part sold
separately and a European importer. For a European buyer the answer is
Sundia.

## The two companies

**Taibolo** is a Taiwanese brand with a compact catalogue: the Pearly and
Glary triple-bearing models, the Note single-bearing model and the Super
Taibolo fixed axle. Its diabolos are sold mainly in Asia and through a small
number of importers elsewhere.

**Sundia** has built diabolos in Taiwan since the late 1990s, introduced the
ball-bearing diabolo in 2005 and the magnetic bearing in 2021, and supplies
most of the diabolos seen at the top competitive level in Taiwan and Japan.

## What the differences mean

- **Stability.** Every Sundia model has the sharp ring on its hub that lets
  you correct a lean with one touch. Taibolo's models rely on soft cups for
  forgiveness, which helps on drops and hurts on speed.
- **Fixed axle.** Taibolo's range is bearing-first; Sundia covers both, and
  the fixed EVO G2 is the model that teaches the string feel a bearing hides.

- **Parts and supply.** A Sundia cup costs 16 € and ships from Berlin; a
  bearing axle, bolt or hub is a few euros. A Taibolo part in Europe usually
  means waiting for an import.
- **Price.** Taibolo undercuts the Falcon by a little; the

**Are Sundia and Taibolo the same company?**
